Prospects for Medium Scale Onshore Wind

A One Day Seminar

Event Overview

Most medium-scale (100kW – 5MW) wind projects are now over a decade old, so it is timely to assess the challenges and opportunities they face in the longer term. The end of FiT and ROC revenues also changes the economic landscape, with some owners having to consider whether to refurbish, re-power, or retire their assets. Join owners and industry experts for a comprehensive one-day seminar focused on the status and future of this unique and important generating sector.

The day will examine the implications for medium-scale wind projects of repowering and refurbishment in the context of planning, grid, economic, and technology issues. Experts in each field will present short talks, followed by open panel discussions on the key issues facing the sector. The seminar is intended for wind turbine owners, service companies, professionals, engineers, communities, and politicians. Don’t miss this chance to connect and exchange ideas with like-minded individuals.

Key Topics*:

  1. Medium wind turbine technology
  2. Repowering and replacement: strategies and challenges
  3. Grid upgrades and integration
  4. Planning and assessment
  5. Economics and financial viability
  6. The regulatory landscape and incentives

*To ensure that the seminar addresses the key issues for the sector the organisers are inviting questions in advance. If there is a question you would like addressed on the day please submit it by email to: mediumwindseminar@geyr-ecosse.co.uk
