James McNeish BEng MSc CEng MIET, Major Connections Design Manager (SHEPD)

James has been working in SSEN distribution for the past eight and a half years, working on connections design and managing a team of designers.

He is currently working as the Major Connections Design Manager with his team responsible for completing the network assessments for all generation projects above 50kW and large demand projects. 

Having worked in this area for such a long time he has extensive knowledge of network design and commercial requirements.

Andy Crumley – Connections Contract Manager, Highlands & Islands, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks

Andy is a Connections Contracts Manager with SSEN Distribution.  With over 14 years experience, Andy’s primary focus is supporting customers through their contracts process primarily in the Highlands & Islands region. Andy is based in Perth.

Joel Llewellyn-Eaton – Senior Business Development Manager, PPAYA

With a background in engineering, finance, and sales, Joel took on the role of Senior Business Development Manager at PPAYA in 2022. While PPAYA’s core business focuses on auctioning short-term utility PPAs, they also specialise in bespoke negotiations for flexible PPAs, CfD RTMs, CPPAs, and more.

Tim French – Manging Director, Constantine Wind Energy

Tim is the Managing Director of Constantine Wind (CWE). Over the past 20 years he has been involved in the development, financing and construction of wind, solar and battery storage projects across Europe, the Asia Pacific and North America. Prior to joining CWE he worked predominantly for RES Group and Albanwise, a property investment group leading the development over 1GW of solar and wind assets.

Rob Collin – Head of Planning and Environmental – Green Cat Renewables

Rob holds an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning as well as a Beng (Hons) in Energy and Environmental Engineering and heads up the Planning and Environmental department at Green Cat Renewables.

With over 14 years of specialist experience in the renewables industry, Rob has managed all aspects of the consenting and project development process from initial feasibility, layout design and stakeholder engagement, through to production and review of technical EIA chapters, including a number of repowering projects across the UK.

Tim Blackmore – Commercial Director, Realise Energy Services

Tim has held senior positions at Vestas, negotiating Turbine Supply Agreements and O&M contracts for both on and offshore wind farms. With 25 years plus experience in the wind sector, he is highly respected having given presentations at governmental level and held positions on the RUK strategy groups advising on policies.

Mark Powell – Sales Manager, Vestas Wind Systems A/S  

Mark graduated from Trent Polytechnic in 1987 with BSc Hons. He stepped into the wind industry in early 2002 when he took a sales role in Vestas at their newly created manufacturing facility in Campbeltown. He is delighted to be able to drive around the country and see operational wind turbines that he sold on behalf of Vestas, and has enjoyed working with utilities, energy companies and private developers to achieve those deals. In more recent years he has been focused on a new business thread for Vestas and selling their refurbished wind turbines.

Charlie Robb – Renewables Electrical Specialist

Charlie is a renewables electrical engineering specialist, experienced in G59 / G99 commissioning testing on all types and sizes of generators starting with Scotland’s first wind farm (Hagshaw Hill) in 1995 and installing, maintaining and inspecting a wide range of generators, control systems and HV connections. He is heavily involved in community renewables projects and owns and operates an Enercon E-44 wind turbine.

Alan Hobbett – Former Chair of Community Energy Scotland

Alan is currently a member of the Scottish Land Fund Funding Committee. Previously he served as Chair of Community Energy Scotland, and before that was a Director of Gigha Renewable Energy Ltd, overseeing the installation of Scotland’s first community-owned windfarm in 2004. He is also former Senior Associate of Campbell Thompson Associates (Finance Advice and Business Planning).

Wim Robbertsen – Managing Director, Business in Wind

Born as a son of an agricultural contractor between tractors and excavators, Wim has been in the wind industry since 2004. He started by selling used wind turbines for another Dutch company, set up the service and projects department of EWT, and later on did the same for Lagerwey, now Enercon. Wim started Business in Wind in 2018, which buys used wind turbines mainly in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria, and sells and installs them mainly in the UK, Sweden, Italy, and now Ukraine. Recently, Business in Wind also has a project in the USA and works on other continents for more special projects.
